Chinese New Year just passed and since it’s the year of the horse, why not celebrate in style? With horse race season coming up, equestrian looks are hitting the runway and appearing in celebrity closets. Recently, Bruce Springsteen’s daughter, Jessica Springsteen, has been named Gucci’s equestrian ambassador for their luxury line of riding clothes.
This trend features a lot of leather, and comfy-chic blazers, blouses, belts, and boots with a modern twist. The equestrian style can be expensive, so here’s how you can add this lavish look to your closet on a skinny budget:
Dorothy Perkins Tan Buckle Satchel for $28 | Mod Cloth She’s a Lucky Gallop Scarf for $19.99 | Barneys New York D Ring Snaffle Buckle Belt for

Ankle boots and booties are an easy to wear shoe. This transitional shoe comes in a variety of designs, so they can be worn year round. There’s a pair to suit skinnies, jeans, dresses, or a skirt.
I’ve spotted three budget-friendly pairs that are just as stunning as these designer pairs. Below are three types – everyday wear, stiletto, and peep toe.
1. Everyday Wear
Suede booties are perfect to slip on for an everyday casual chic look. Wear under a wide-leg jean or cuff your skinnies and let the boots be a focal point.
Nine West Otilla Pull On Booties for
$139 now marked down to $49.99 vs Rag & Bone Classic Newbury Booties for $495
2. The Stiletto
Layer with a black tight for long, sexy legs.
Michael Antonio Mains Bootie for
$59 now marked down to $44.95 vs Barbara Bui Smooth Leather Ankle Bootie for $780
3. Peep Toe
Layer a fun tight for a peep of personality on a chilly day or save this style for a warmer temp.
Miss KG Black Peep Ankle Boots for
$135 now marked down to $39 vs Burberry Peep Toe Booties for $750 now marked down to $525
My favorite type is the stiletto. I love to wear them with my favorite pair of skinny jeans for a night out. What’s your favorite type of ankle boot or bootie? Share how you’d style this shoe in the comments below!
I didn’t think the storm would be THAT bad. Boy, was I wrong! Silly me, I walked out in classic black Keds (definitely not snow appropriate)…yes, I changed to boots.
Hmmm…I wonder what Chauncey’s wearing today. Apparently, it’s 65 – 70 degrees in San Francisco. She’s sick in bed :( and I hope she feels better soon.
It has been snowing for over 10 hours, so here’s what I wore to stay toasty during blizzard Janus (…since when did they start naming snow storms?):
1. C.Wonder knit cable beanie with fur topper (similar C. Wonder hat here or ASOS faux fur pom beanie here)
2. Striped scarf (similar LOFT scarf here)
3. Betsey Johnson hooded wool coat with heart twisty toggles (old, similar coats here)
4. Black Hunter Original Tall Rain Boots with Pink Welly Fleece Boot Socks (old, similar here)
Also, no snow day is complete without hot chocolate & oversized marshmallows. Mmmmmm!

2013 was full of fabulous and not so fabulous fashion trends. It’s the beginning of a new year and I’m crossing my fingers that these five trends will die out this year. Do you agree? Do tell in the comments below!
How did overalls become 2013’s latest trend? Overalls remind me of playgrounds and farming. This denim piece should have stayed in the ‘90s and only come in children sizes.
Happy 40th birthday Kate Moss. People say when men age, they start looking better and when women age, their beauty begins to fade away. I have to disagree…look at Kate Moss! I had no idea she turned 40. She has aged gracefully, and hope I do the same.

Kate Moss is a muse in the fashion industry. She was discovered when she was 14 in 1988 and started to become well known in the 1990’s. According to W Magazine, by 2003 she has been on 15 of their covers. Fast forward to 2013, and this super model has been on 24 of their covers.
Also, through Twitter, I found out she’s designing a line for TopShop that will be sold at Nordstroms. Her line will be debuted in April 2014! Yay!
HOLY MOLY!!! I love Target…I always go in for something like toothpaste and leave the store with a billion other awesome products. What I love most about Target is how they Continue reading
The classic black pump is a staple to a lady’s wardrobe. Just like their counterpart, the little black dress, the classic black pump is timeless and versatile. These pumps can be worn so many ways and for so many occasions, so they’re a wardrobe essential. The right pair can make a huge difference to compliment an outfit.
I’ve separated my favorites in three categories – pointy, rounded, and party pumps. Continue reading
